We need to hang a 13.5kg mirror on our bathroom subway tiles
Do we ...
Find a stud?
Use a diamond head but?
Do we use a plug ? I've heard when they open up they can expand and crack the tiles
Do we use two types of drill bits ? One for the tiles and one for the stud?
Masking tape? Water?
No trade will do it for us so we have to do it ourselves and would prefer not to crack the tiles!

My GE Profile 30" cooktop was put into "control lock" last week. This means that the burners don't turn on, but you know the unit is stil getting power because there is a little red light on next to the "control lock" label. the way it's supposed to work is you touch that label for a few seconds and it becomes unlocked and ready to use. Doesn't work. and even after cutting off power to the cooktop by flipping the breaker for a few minutes, then flipping back on had no effect. GE will have a technician come out next wedsday, but meanwhile, does any have any ideas about what is going on? Anyone else have this problem? shot in the dark, but it may work out!

meanwhile, I'm thinking the extended warranty is not such a bad idea after all . . .

Having my kitchen redone with a new peninsula layout with quartzite stone. The layout is as shown below. There is a overhang of 12 1/2" in the front. It is already installed couple of weeks ago. Our initial plan was to have more overhang and so corbels were built in the plan. The fabricator did say that the 12.5" overhang with current base cabinet layout does not need any additional support and so it is now installed with no supports. I still want to get second and other stone expert opinions if a corbel is still needed for this layout and measurements. Appreciate any inputs. Ae Casino
